“the symbol for communism is oudated…btw its absurd to say millennial socialism is reactionary” bruh I’ve come across hundreds of disgustingly useless VarnVlog NPC face podcasts. PMC might be technically workers, but its clear their class position is the position of the gamerchair indoor worker who is privileged enough to not need to open up a single book on science to learn how to feed their comrades.

those one or two ostensibly Marxian materialist communist podcasts are PMC anti-communists:

The only socialist agriculture pod I know is Poor Proles Almanac who are apparently Bookchin redditors, the exact class of woke libertarian who insists Marxism is “outdated” and that we need to instead google some utopian urban planning neoliberal. Hilarious to hear them parrot anti-USSR CIA/nazi propaganda like Enemy at the Gates or whatever, right after PMC virtue signalling about “indigenous sovereignty”. So apparently nazis doing settler capitalist genocide in Russia is good, but these redditors aren’t demons because they heroically protect the private property rights of the genocided natives after their enslavement? lmao

I cannot name a single leftist manufacturing pod, except maybe Well There’s Your Problem, who are also anti-communist PMC anarchists/engineers (Justin hasn’t done historical materialism since his youtuber days?)

Very weird and surprising to see a complete lack of materialist scholarship! Especially considering I’m always hearing workers IRL talk about their struggle. That’s why Marxists consider the proletariat to be the most progressive class, workers are excited to be learning and applying about materialism each and everyday.

I am always overhearing them always talking about new innovations that can enrich their lives, I have never heard a gamerchair socialist talk about stuff like new sustainable HVAC technology or new types of fabric that can keep people cool under the looming global warming holocaust or whatever. The only thing a gamerchair will do is cry about how “hopeless” and “doomed” they are because their anti-communist wannabee bourgeois individualism (aka neoliberalism) leads to nihilism and despair. Exactly what Lenin described when he critiqued leftists with Malthusian bourgeois ideology who have no skin in the game to do revolutionary struggle for the next generation:

Okay, I’m trying to make a full list of all the BMF accounts so far. There’s black_mold_futures, apparitionist, timecubeevangelist, trumanshow_irl, sealand_macronation, gardenSkink, and now privatized_sun. I know there are others, please comment them if you know so that I can find them later. These posts need to be preserved. Additionally, both myself and another user have independently found what we believe is BMF’s reddit account: reddit.com/u/OpenCommune

    Edit: ides_of_merch, Bjork_shhh

Edit 2: Another user has pointed out that the account Ketamine_device_tech is BMF-esque and may be the actual original account, but the account was never banned, so I think it might be a different person entirely.

Edit 3: Having read more of Ketamine_device_tech, it actually does seem like a larval-stage BMF. The posts have similar gripes (one post uses the phrase "Jacobin socialists love Walmart), and they use the “amber snacking” emote.

Edit 4: godzilla_vs_jerboa, as pointed out by infuziSporg

If you want a good socialist podcast about agriculture I recommend this https://turbonics.substack.com/

middle class Hexbear redditors: “I don’t want to have kids because of my depression uwu” eh. I mean like yeah I think some people on here buy the basic premise that giving birth to children is wrong because you can’t get their consent which in essense is giving waaaay too much credence to bourgeois-enlightenment concepts of reducing social relationships and obligations to consent and contractualism.

That being said idk this really just seems like "I dont like middle income people so I’m going to mash together the middle class desire to not have a kid to the (allegedly) middle class phenomena of having mental health issues which just seems kinda incoherent and not motivated by a productive impulse.

I am always overhearing them always talking about new innovations that can enrich their lives, I have never heard a gamerchair socialist talk about stuff like new sustainable HVAC technology or new types of fabric that can keep people cool under the looming global warming holocaust or whatever. The only thing a gamerchair will do is cry about how “hopeless” and “doomed” they are because their anti-communist wannabee bourgeois individualism (aka neoliberalism) leads to nihilism and despair

Yeah I do agree that there is too much political nihilism on hexbear. The Socialist left is bigger in America than it has been since the 60’s and there is really no value in spreading any idea that prevents people from getting organized. There are so many projects and organizations to get involved in. You can join the CPUSA, the DSA, and if you are so inclined to the IWW. If these don’t interest you then there are so many local organizing projects that are much harder to find but if you really dig into it then you can find them. Beyond that if there’s literally nothing then there has never been a better time to just try to network with people online or in your local area since there’s never been another time in the last 4 decades that people have been more receptive to socialist politics.

That being said, I’m not sure if the best way to combat left-podcast induced nihilism is to go on about it like this. It’s better to plug into local organizing and use your platform here to try to plug people in and show people that there is another way.

Knowledge about farming and manufacturing should be a part of (paid) vocational training and demanding that people learn it in their free time is anti-worker
