Trump announced on Tuesday the US could “take over” the Gaza Strip and transform it into a premier tourist destination, or the “Riviera of the Middle East” - but without Palestinians.

On social media, many debated the plan, with large swathes of people denouncing it as “ethnic cleansing”. Others immediately pointed out the US’s long history of “settler colonialism” and “imperialism”.

In the US, many liberal commentators, especially supporters of the Democratic Party, said Trump was acting precisely as they had warned ahead of presidential elections in November 2024. They blamed his Gaza takeover plan on Muslims for voting for him instead of Kamala Harris.

Voters in Michigan’s Dearborn, the largest majority Arab-American city in the United States, overwhelmingly supported Trump in a clear protest against the Biden administration’s handling of Israel’s war on Gaza.

In reality, Trump won every swing state in the US election, and had he lost Michigan, Harris still would not have come close to competing in the electoral college.

They voted their conscience? So they wanted ethnic cleansing? That is what they voted for. There was never any doubt what Trump stood for, what he was going to do.

Can you honestly blame people for being frustrated that’s this super hardline approach is what we got when people claimed to want something else then voted against their interests?

Same with supporting the working class. With wanting to end corruption. All these things people claimed they cared about then turned around and voted in Trump. It’s maddening.

Go shove your blue maga bullshit. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Voting for Harris or for Trump was a vote for ethnic cleansing. You don’t get to stand on a high-horse and pretend you didn’t vote for the same administration that helped accelerate the ongoing genocide of Palestinians, that was your choice. It isn’t “super hardline” to oppose genocide, especially not if it is the only way to stop the genocide (outside of Revolution, which is necessary regardless).

Pretending that Leftists voted for Trump, rather than Stein or Claudia De La Crúz, is just blinding yourself to reality. Harris was never owed votes, she has always stood against the Working Class. Trump is awful, and so is Biden, and so would Harris be.

When you have to intentionally distort reality to prove a point, like pretending third party voters and non-voters actually were Trump voters, you epitomize Blue MAGA.

You’re right. Fuck saying blue maga. You’re just a straight up nazi. You supported a genocide. And now that you’ve had power stripped from you BECAUSE YOU SUPPORTED A GENOCIDE you’re doing what nazis always do. Pretend anything inconvenient to them never existed. So now you turn around with characteristic smirking bad faith and say that people who didn’t vote for your modern day Hitler were voting for ethnic cleansing. I say we’re here because punching nazis wasn’t good enough. “super hardline approach” to voting against the person murdering their families. Holy shit fuck you. Fucking nazis.

There is a guy in power right now giving Nazi salutes, stripping lifesaving aid from tens of millions of people, advocating for ethnic cleansing, and a whole lot more. I voted against that and I’m the Nazi? Fuck you.

I am not pretending Democrats weren’t peices of shit. I have no delusions about that. I am operating under the reality that Americans, the people in Gaza, and most of the world, is in a much worse situation right now because you decided to take a moral stand against the person more likely to help, to be influenced by protests.

Are you protesting what is happening right now? I know a lot of vulnerable people can’t.

You ARE a nazi. Fuck you.

The people in Gaza are in a worse position now than they were before the ceasefire?

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert.

You look like a nazi. You speak like a nazi. You act like a nazi.

You’re so close at seeing how propaganda can lead swathes of people like the workers to vote against their own interests without questioning why; but won’t take the next step to question if propaganda tells you our only “reasonable” choices were between a person actively enabling a genocide and another person who wanted to commit a genocide.
