Who would’ve thought, ousting mods from communities that had specific rules and moderation polices would end up making the community worse.
I wonder if this includes finding mods for the subreddit choosingbeggars. Oh the irony.
It’s for a
churchsubreddit honey! NEXT!Don’t need the attitude mods, NEXT!
I’ve only looked at the front page a couple of times since the blackout. It seems to have degraded significantly. I have no idea if that’s confirmation bias or the reality of the situation.
I pass by the front page to hit my porn-filled multireddit (hey, leave me alone, the non-straight content on lemmy is still lacking). The front page is stagnant, it’s pretty bad out there.
the straight content is lacking too. the nsfw on lemmy is an absolute waste of time. it’s awful. we need actual sex workers and exhibitionists to show up, because whatever bullshit the 3-4 horny repost dudes are into is NOT my thing. all I see posted is stupid hentai, fully clothed white celebs, and tame softcore still images of solo women, again mostly white. there’s barely any gifs, barely any couples, barely any OC
The only info I get on reddit is what I read here. Can’t say I’m sorry.
Feel the same, quality seems very stale these days. Wondered if it was just me who was thinking that.
A LOT more Twitter ragebait, but not an astronomical amount more than what the site already had. /r/all was largely just many clones of /r/funny wearing a mask, or clonea of WhitePeopleTwitter (ragebait central) wearing a mask.
Sad to see AccidentalRennaissance also joined the ranks as yet another /r/funny clone.
Years ago I saw users talking about joining Discords to share how to make subreddits go viral with inflammatory content. I believe the donald era brought a massive paradigm shift to the site. In other words the user base became that which enjoys edgy posting.
Wild that it’s legal for a full on company to publically request free work.
Shit, a majority of interns are paid.
What’s even wilder than companies wanting this are the people who do it.
Reddit culture has really diluted over time (and I see the good parts of it alive here <3) but the one thing the reddit community still has is stubborn dedication to pet issues. Even though there is nothing that’ll get me to come back now, I’m glad reddit has finally found an issue they seemingly can’t trample over the users over.
Interesting. I find that Lemmy seems to have picked up a lot of the bad. Too many memes, very shallow discussions. Maybe I’m just not in the right communities.
Apply, take the job and then run it into the nearest reef or iceberg!
Might as well put up job post and hopefully well paid
Pay people to work for my IPO? Preposterous!
ikr, pissing all the free workers off and replace them with like what?
Genius IPO plan
