This is the guy who pumped his fist at the Jan 6ers before all hell broke loose.

“Every dollar and gig of data that flows into Chinese AI are dollars and data that will ultimately be used against the United States,” Senator Hawley said in a statement.

So he should have no problem with anyone downloading their source code and running it locally, then? Since neither dollars nor data would be flowing into China or DeepSeek?

It’s taking away money that God almighty ordained was destined for the pockets of OpenAI.

“Every dollar and gig of data that flows into Chinese American AI are dollars and data that will ultimately be used against the United States”

      The opposite is also true

Ok that’s can be said about all the things that were sent to China to make $ for the rich.

Jail them all. Oh wait, not them? Oh ok.

      Jail the peasants.

I don’t know why this keeps being echoed as a significant point when generative AI as a replacement for web searches is almost (excepting those with a stake in AI) universally viewed as a terrible idea.

      Bing that shit or whatever.

The reason is because the ai adjusted reality to fit the view of a government, and so the ai should not be used. Now you know, and you can stop wondering why.

Just to clarify the intent of my last sentence… “google” has become a verb and alphabet has way too much power. I tend to use “Bing it” sarcastically because they’ll never be a serious competitor in the search space and fuck Google.
