    Doing this while not properly allocating the astronomical amount of funding that the semiconductor industry would need in the US is in-character and hilariously foolish.

    The US could do so much for the world/themselves if they’d just invest in open source RISC-V manufacturing and R&D inside of the US. But they only understand corporatist-style handouts and amasssing warchests of proprietary technology. It’s even more shortsighted than shipping your manufacturing overseas and having an enemy nation manufacture all of your critical tech hardware while foolishly glossing over the security ramifications of that plan.
