I find this absolutely terrifying. And we all know what this means - pushing disabled people into jobs that aren’t at all suitable, by stopping their disability payments. As for the claim they’re going to increase mental health services to get the mentally ill back into work, well just read my previous posts about what NHS therapy is like. It’s worse than useless, to the extent that my therapist refused to give me real therapy, saying there’s no point in my case, and me committing suicide seems like a reasonable plan. That’s NHS therapy for you! These things are never about helping the disabled, they’re always about the economy. While those in charge live like kings.

The bi-partisan eugenicist project continues it’s accelerating trajectory.

I spoke to a Labour MP about this (and the similar approach to unemployment benefits) and got the usual boilerplate “dignity in work, government costs, blah blah blah”.

Instead of making the usual (correct and moral) counter arguments I decided to try something else, asking instead how a government that is…

    • pushing increased AI and job automation as the solution to business growth and shrinking government departments

    • overseeing a reduction in worker rights and abandoning policy ideas to reduce exploitative or ‘always on call’ work (zero hour contract legislation for example)

    • overseeing a benefits system that increasingly penalises and discourages part-time and voluntary work, while deliberately pushing end users into low paid, low skill, often explicitly exploitative, 9-5 full time labour intensive work in an effort to hit targets for removing people from the system

…can possibly hope to achieve these aims and square that of actions and economic incentives.

They didn’t have an answer. At all. They tried a few weasel words which I pushed back on and they all but admitted it doesn’t make sense. “You do make a good point” was the exact phrase before they brushed it off and excused themselves to go and ‘urgently’ chat to someone else about ‘something’ before they left awkwardly.

It’s bullshit and they know it’s bullshit. There’s the ones who are fully on board with this neoliberal eugenicist ideology and there’s the ones that certainly aren’t going to stand up against it but mostly just don’t want to think about it. And they’re both complicit.

prepare to see a bunch of disabled homeless people begging for money in the streets. thats what its like in amerikkka because we also have little to no disability benefits. it really ruins your day when you see them. not because seeing them is bad for you but its just a reminder of what sort of society you’re living in, knowing these people are suffering to such a degree and you’re powerless to help them

And the homeless people get driven out of wherever they’re trying to live, evicted for squatting in abandoned buildings, spikes put on pavements and benches so they can’t sleep there, told to move on when they’re in a public place.

As a litmus test to see what people are like deep down, ask them how they would solve homelessness. Because homelessness raises the hitler particles amongst the privileged.

And after immediately suggesting to just genocide them, you’re the monster if you suggest just building more homes. They’re housing kulaks.

Vowing to “help” people on disability find jobs is a nice way of saying threaten their livelihood at the expense of their health. Wouldn’t expect any less from Starmer.

The “help” is threatening disabled people with death essentially and forcing them to be exploited - but when have the bureaucrats of death ever cared about such “trival” things, there is always a statistic that needs to look prettier.

The threat is meaningless if I am threatened to rely on others.

Might as well threaten me to sell a spade. If I put myself out there to try to sell that spade and every person I talk to says “no thanks”, then you can’t call me lazy. Maybe people are just all set for spades and I’m just getting in their way!

Some of the worst people become therapists. I don’t care if they say it’s reverse psychology or tough love. It’s attempted manslaughter and they are probably took the job with its shit conditions out of bloodlust.

I spent many years working as a carer, so I worked alongside nurses a lot. Now I’m disabled I am treated by medical professionals a lot. Many of them are very cruel and heartless to the extent I really think that’s the reason they got into the medical profession - to have power over vulnerable people, not to actually help them. (and the status of course, if you’re a doctor or nurse many people think you’re some kind of god.)

I remember once I had an emergency appointment with a therapist as I was on the absolute verge of suicide. She just told me to buy the New Age book The Secret, about the law of attraction, and use it to attract whatever I want into my life. Then she shoved me out the door, session over. My current therapist is threatening my livelihood by saying she’ll report me for not attending all the sessions even though she knows this could mean homelessness for me (it will affect my benefit appeal). She just says “If you become homeless I’ll give you a leaflet on how to access emergency shelters.” They just do not GAF.

Go to LCSWs in the US, not sure what the equivalent would be in the UK or elsewhere. They are licensed clinical social workers and generally much more empathetic with a social medicine mindset instead of a clinical mindset.

The level of ableism and punching down in this shithole country is ridiculous. The job market is in the shitter anyway and it doesn’t address the fact that companies don’t want to hire people with disabilities even if there were any jobs. My experience of most people here is no matter how shit their hand is they will absolutely revel in the opportunity to make someone else even worse off than they are, I’ve never known a more self hating people. Nonce island is cooked

    by stopping their disability payments

It seems that the rest of the west learned a thing or two from the Nazis about how to effectively commit eugenic mass murder on home soil, by systematically abstracting it away.

my therapist refused to give me real therapy, saying there’s no point in my case, and me committing suicide seems like a reasonable plan

This therapist deserves to rot for life in an oubliette. Evil sick piece of shit.

      It’s so dumb:

porky-happy: “Sorry useless eater, you’re gonna have to get a job!”

      doomjak: “Ok, are you hiring?”

      porky-happy: “Heh, no.”

If you do this to the most vulnerable people in your society than what the ever loving fuck is the point? Your humanity is gone so wtf are you even fighting for? Why even get out of bed if this is the shitshow you’re running when shit isn’t that bad? These chucklefucks don’t seem to ask this.
