First three quarters is fine, but he’s mostly rambling about stuff lol.
Geez I’ve spent many dozens of hours reading about trans issues last year, and I still don’t know fuck all, and I won’t dare give an opinion, other than “reactionaries are wrong, PhDs are right”. Why do people with no training on something very complicated feel like they’ve solved an issue.
I was watching a recent interview with Finkelstein where he was asked a question about the recent situation in Syria and he rejected the question saying he didnt believe he could comment on Syria if “he didnt know more than an average layperson”
He should take his own advice on trans issues too
Norm, as you advise others to do pretty often, don’t talk about shit you know nothing about. It makes you look like an idiot. ‘Have some humility’ to quote the guy himself.
ffs are ppl trying to cancel Finkelstein?
he’s not untouchable just because he’s the guy who has read the most books about israel-palestine. he is an idiot liberal on some social issues. acting like people shouldn’t point that out is a really bad look.
He’s already lost his career. I don’t know what makes you phrase this this way when you can see what he said and how clearly wrong and transphobic it is, but if it needs to be spelled out: Norm might be a good scholar on the issue of Palestine but he has recently been spreading dangerous transphobic rhetoric in irrelevant conversations. There’s no excuse for that. There isn’t really much more of a career left to take away from him and the Zionists have been very successful at silencing him so obviously this isn’t about cancelling him, it’s about being very clear about the fact that he’s saying some dangerous things.
Goddammit norm stay in your lane
boomer’s gonna boomer :/
Other than wanting a 2-state solution, Norm’s Palestine takes are pretty much good and it’s supposed to stop there
But if he doesn’t stick to Palestine when talking about Palestine, that makes it hard
He has specified in the past that he is not a proponent of a 2-state solution
Actually, scratch Falastin, what about the rest of his foreign political and political economic stances?
He talks about how he “used to be a Maoist” but rarely elaborates on what that means
Isn’t this the guy who talked about gooners being inclined to being fascist, due to their “bohemian” nature?
No I think he was correct about that and the type of people he’s talking about are just what we call treatlerites. It was just very humorous.
Oh, I see from your POV.
he’s kind of on to something there tbh
some of our faves may be implicated
