I’m working on rearranging my eurorack, plus I’m waiting for some new modules (Error instruments). Synth tower are synths on monitor arms around a 19" module mount.

Yeah, I blame Behringer. I never started because it’s so expensive. Now with Behringer it’s so cheap, so I bought my first synth. And a second. Etc. The bar of “should I buy this” is very low when the prices are so sexy. Now I have a decent setup of legendary clones, so now I can see which ones I never use so I can sell them. Honestly, I use almost all of them every time. So now I’m saving money for proper eurorack modules. I just ordered Error Instruments modules, they are so unique, quirky and beautiful. Also invested in Erica Synths drum modules and Endorphins Ghost among others for creating better kicks and high hats.

But I never was a student, I never had a student debt. I always made enough money to pay my bills and have something extra to spend on something nice. Now that I’m getting a bit older, I’m partying a bit less so I can afford a synth or 2 every month. Now I have enough I can focus on improving the quality of my setup. Buying second hand and selling second hand barily comes at a loss, sometimes even at a win. Behringer is cheap, but does lose a bit more value than better quality gear. But is also cheap second hand and doesn’t lose much more when selling it again a year later.

Speaking of Behringer, that looks like the Neutron (Proton? The blue one.)

Almost got one, but I haven’t had the chance to fiddle with one first. Out of 10, how do you rate its sound and/or ease of use? (The Neutron and Proton are basically the same it seems but with a few more or less oscillators and features?)

I rate the Proton as top tier of behringer synths. I like it better then the neutron. Ease of use has a large range. Easy to get amazing sound out of it, but patches can be as complex as you like. I love the sound, it has an amazing patch bay, it’s just awesome. If you have both the Neutron and Proton, be ready for some insane cross-synth patches. They are amazing brothers, but the Proton is such an improvement! I would definitely recommend. Also the Model 15 by the way, grandmother sounds from a semi modular, cheap price, it’s a steal. Also comes with a large patch bay.
