This is good information. The first article is from 2022. The second is from November of last year. This doesn’t really change the point I’m making. There is this prevailing narrative that something has changed on TikTok since it went lights out for 12 hours. Accusations of everything from disabling lives, to removing unfavorable search terms about Donald Trump, to suppressing Luigi Mangione content. Except, all these “changes” that liberals are “noticing” have always been there (Lives were down because the service was the last to be brought up after the shutdown, they work fine now). I use the app pretty frequently, I use it to communicate with some distant friends, and me and my SO share content with each other all the time. In trying to verify these claims, I’ve only encountered one, which was having “Free Luigi!” removed from a pro-luigi video. It’s very likely that the comment was reported by someone, and their system automatically removed it, and it’s just as possible it’s always done that because I never leave comments on videos.

If you’re trying to tell me that TikTok has a pro-Israel, pro-NATO stance, then I’ll say that’s been the case since Project Texas. That’s what these two articles tell me. I still get a lot of pro-Palestine content in my feed. I still get a lot of, communist, socialist, anti-imperialist content in my feed. I wouldn’t doubt, however, content like that is getting less reach over all. It’s not being surfaced organically at the same rate to people who do not already have that content in their subscribed list. TikTok’s algorithm keeps you locked in with the content you’ve shown a preference to. If you started a fresh account today, and sought out right-wing content, it would lock you into that content and fill your feed with right-wing.

None of that is new. There is a thriving pro-trump side of TikTok that none of these liberals ever see, unless they see someone from their liberal feed engaging with those people.

Despite being riddled with state department and NATO ghouls, it still managed to spark the ire of elected officials in Washington after October 7th:

In an interview with The Dispatch on Thursday, Chris Murphy of Connecticut, who previously spoke out in favor of restricting TikTok’s access in the U.S., said he had moved from supporting regulating the social media platform to an outright ban since the October 7 Hamas attack in Israel due to its ability to “drive this narrative” of “hateful speech” among young people.

There is a clear contradiction at play here under the surface. One that has driven us to this state of “crisis”. Officials in Washington scrambled to try and avert this ban, after being so enthusiastic about it.

Chris Murphy had this to say on the 19th about the TikTok blackout:

TikTok tucking itself in with Trump. Twitter under control of the White House. Facebook making major changes to placate MAGA, doing PR campaign to align w Trump.

Does everyone not see what’s happening here and how terrifying this is.

Since 2020 according to the above article, TikTok has been staffed with imperialist ghouls. Despite this fact, the Specter of Communism drives elected officials to push forward a ban, shaking hands with the very people Chris Murphy is talking about in his tweet to do so (he voted in favor of the ban). Now he’s surprised that TikTok turned to the only available party that could allow the profits to keep flowing. What shallow thinkers these people must be.

So what is it? Are these ghouls asleep at the wheel, or are they driving the narrative inside everyone’s feed? Did the 12-hour blackout push the “TrumpCode” and now it’s TruthTok, or has it been always that way and libs are having panic attacks because brunch is finally over? If TikTok has always been a captured weapon of the state, then why did state officials ban the app at all? Couldn’t they have picked up the TikTok hotline and called in a narrative change?

If anything, this is just evidence of the civil war happening inside the ruling class. A civil war that, it would appear, the liberal wing has lost. When TikTok does decide to start implementing changes, they will announce it because these changes will be “normal”. Likely, they will get leaked ahead of time, like the changes to Facebook, since just like Facebook, Libs work at TikTok too. As it stands now, it’s clear to me nothing has really changed.
