But some Republican politicians and social media posts have wrongly claimed or suggested that the attack was the result of illegal immigration.

    Granted, most of their stories seem designed to increase suffering, but hey since when has that mattered to republicans? I guess they want to be sure the media has a lot to pay attention to.
