    The big revelation in the article is that Zaluzhnyi admitted back in late 2023 that Ukraine needed significant technological innovations to have a chance of winning. In other words, he was saying that Ukraine would lose unless magic happened. Zelensky dismissed that and continued the war, resulting in further losses of lives and money without achieving any positive results. Importantly, the west knew since at least 2023 that the war could not be won.

      I don’t think Zelensky is the one calling the shots, it’s his Western backers, mainly the US and UK. Wasn’t it Bozo Johnson who told Zelensky to cancel the deal that would’ve prevented the War in the first place?

        I think Istanbul peace deal was the last moment he actually had any real choice. After that it was the west driving everything. Hence the key part here is that the west knew full well that the war was lost for at least a year, but they chose to continue sacrificing Ukrainians in hopes to weaken Russia.
