I’ve been looking at plate carriers lately but I don’t know much about them. I have some level 4 plates I bought a few years ago. Would like to go the milsurp route to save some coin if I can. Anyone want to chime in with opinions or examples of setups they’re happy with?

I run a crye precision JPC 2.0 but I have comrades who run some good milsurp stuff. I’ll ask them what to look into. You’ll want something that fits SAPI plates which I’m guessing is the standard your plates are. Also, they should NOT be steel plates just FYI. Spend the money and get ceramic if you haven’t already.

I asked my friend and he said “You’re not really going to save much money going milsurplus route on a carrier. You can get an AR500 Testudo Gen-2 for like $200 and they are super comfortable”. That being said, Crye makes really nice shit for like $280. https://www.cryeprecision.com/JPC-2-0 . Just don’t get multicam black (it’s a cop color)
