It’s not like invading rice farmers

I usually don’t say anything when I see someone say this because it’s not being used to make another group seem better in comparison, but you’re using it here to make Dutch soldiers seem superior and the reality is those so called rice farmers were soldiers who’d gotten their military experience fighting the French out of their country. Perhaps when they returned to their daily lives they became farmers again, but they were veterans not just some farmers with guns in their hands. Euro troops who themselves have only at best aided us in invading poor brown countries wish they were on the level of the Vietnamese.

no i’m using it to reference how the u.s. is used to fighting rice/goat farmers and still getting their asses kicked and the dutch probably have like aircraft and shti, that doesn’t mean “they are superior” it means they probably have better odds at killing a guy because they ahve money to throw into things like “having aircraft”

stop over thinking every comment i beg you all, i was literally just going “lol some marines would die haha do it” with vague thoughts about how even the slightest success western militaries have ever seen in the last hundred years have been from having air support in situations where their opponents don’t
