        Changing it to “removed” instead just drives the euphemism treadmill faster, people will find ways to say the same without those specific words. Whether something is a slur is also very context-dependent. Something computers as of yet aren’t well equipped to handle.

      Iirc, lemmy.ml is a specifically leftist instance, right? They may have banned the word because of its sexist nature. A bit like allowing fuck, but not allowing the other f word that generally applies to gay men. Swearing isn’t the issue, slurs or derogatory terms are.

      Just fyi, i used the w word because it is the most accurate translation. Hurensohn means Sohn einer Hure, Son einer Hure, Son of a Hure, Son of a removed

        A lot of translations of “Spez ist ein hurensohn” translates to “Spez is a son on of a removed” – although “hurensohn” is more literally “removed’s son”
