To Americans War is something that they do to other people overseas and watch on TV. War is a one-sided affair where America imposes it’s will on the Other and brings them to heel. War isn’t their communities being bombed and their friends, family, and neighbors being murdered, it’s shots of jets being launched from carriers, bombs going off in a Bad City, and occasionally a flag draped casket being loaded onto a plane so they can say “See! Our brave troops are being killed, we have to glass Bad City!”.
