Honestly while it’s really fucking annoying that refusal to participate could result in some silly neuronormo interpreting a completely innocuous action as an offense, and it can cut you off from social shit, I think it’s basically the only way.     I actually don’t mind the arbitrary rules that make no fucking sense because most of my rituals themselves are also completely arbitrary that also make no fucking sense if I try to explain it to other people. Even NTs find rituals comforting I guess. I used to despise their arbitrary rules, but now I’m mostly amused by it. For example, NTs respond really well to you saying “bless you” when they’re sneezing for some reason. Two simple words means you care a lot about their wellbeing apparently.
