I’m partial to MX brown keys and would like to find a reasonably priced (<$130ish CDN) keyboard with a number pad

I prefer plug in since this will just sit on my desk and I’m happy to not have to worry about BT connection issues and battery levels

As a reference, I really like my Corsair K70 with brown switches

This will be attached to my work MacBook Pro - I’m a relative OSX newbie and sometimes have trouble translating the special keys from the Windows layout to Mac, so I figure having an actual Apple keyboard will make my life just a bit easier

I don’t think your question is so much about the keycaps - plenty of keycap sets are available that include Mac keys. Your question should be which keyboards are compatible with MacOS, because not all are.

For example, I built a Feker Alice but even though it’s advertised as Mac compatible, the software was for Windows, it didn’t connect correctly and I ended up having to flash it on a Windows PC I was able to borrow. It works now but I’ve been unable to customise the keys as I’d intended, and I’ve learnt my lesson about checking Mac compatibility.

Also a tiny nitpick about the terminology in the OP. An ‘Apple Keyboard’ is a keyboard made by Apple (who haven’t produced a mechanical keyboard in 30+ years; and currently offer nothing other than chiclet-key abominations); there, too, the right term is ‘Mac compatible’.

… an aluminum Apple keyboard is all I have after my Unicomp broke; and I hate it with a passion.

That’s pretty pedantic as people generally understand what is meant by an “Apple” keyboard. But I’ll concede per the “technically correct is the best correct” rule

By that phrase, people understand ‘manufactured by Apple’ – and on Apple forums & such, they point that out pretty rudely, as opposed to pedantically.
