“wife beater” is the word used frequently to refer to white a-frame tank tops (tankies) where I’m from. I do not appreciate that name, but I love the idea of using that word until a lib or conservative will try to explain what a ‘tankie’ is to me.
“Damn girl, you looking good in that Tankie”
“I’ve got nothing else to wear but Tankies to go out and do my laundry”
“Oh shit 4 for 12.99 Tankies!?!?”
“Aw, I got my Tankie dirty, I gotta go change”
