Seems to me that the only thing we’ll be shaboinking is pixels on the screen, and a date would be something like sitting on the roof of a rented car and drinking some high-fructose McFlurry.

Material conditions are so ass rn that the youth are missing out on our lives. We’re stuck in shitty jobs with shitty hours, forced to live at home which means we can’t really have a relationship. Everyone is broke and tired. There’s no feeling that things will even get better, only worse.

That’s just based on my experience in the west. I imagine India where OP is from is even worse.

In India, bachelors have a hard time getting a place for rent. They often have to pay exorbitant prices. And obviously, no drinking/smoking at home, no pets, there’s also dietary restrictions some times, no inviting friends, especially of the opposite sex. But that was for the millennials. For us Gen-Z kids, it gets so much worse.

The diet nazi upper caste landlords are possibly the most gross people.

In the places I rented there was only one that never cared about smoking.

Other places owners would just barge in whenever or put weirder restrictions.

I miss living alone. My family put in so much work getting out of rundown apartments and near-tenement conditions that going back to it genuinely makes me want to tear my dreads out; like-- I know it’s a fantasy but I was raised to see the conditions we escaped as ‘failure’. I can’t stand that feeling.
