Does anyone really think am that a ceasefire is viable while Hamas still holds hostages?

Extremely unfun fact: Israel is holding hundreds if not thousands of times as many innocent civilians hostage as Hamas on trumped up charges if any, routinely torturing them physically, mentally, and sexually.

So you can take your Hasbara gaslighting deflection and shove it.

We’re not morons. We don’t have to pretend that people held by Israel are universally innocent. I’m sure there’s an innocence rate just like any justice system; but a significant portion of those people did criminal things.

          We’re not morons

Not convinced based on your conduct so far or the fact that you return to the scene of your humiliation two days later when everyone else has moved on from the conversation.

We don’t have to pretend that people held by Israel are universally innocent

We don’t have to pretend that they’re universally guilty and deserving of all abuse, though. The IDF torturers do, though.

a significant portion of those people did criminal things.

Prove it, then. Don’t just torture people who you don’t know to be guilty or attack military police trying to question torturers

Even if they WERE all guilty, torture would still be cruel and dehumanizing treatment that is never acceptable under any circumstances.

So take hostages is your conclusion?

Israel has always conditioned the return of the hostages by Hamas with “We get to keep killing ‘Hamas’ if we want to after the deal.” Which is not a ceasefire.

You can’t tell the side you’re negotiating with to give you what you want and offer nothing, that’s not how negotiation works. Hamas has offered the return of the hostages at every negotiation, it’s literally the only leverage they have.

You can’t tell the side you’re negotiating with to give you what you want and offer nothing

Several deals have offered pullouts back to the '67 borders contingent upon return of the hostages. We (the US) strong-armed Israel into offering these deals. They’ve been categorically rejected.

Hamas has demanded the right to keep hostages indefinitely a.k.a. slavery. If one side is demanding the right to own slaves, maybe they’re the bad side.

It’s working out so well now, you mean? When the IDF shot hostages, bombed schools and murdered thousands of innocent people?

The people did democratically vote for war. They voted in the party that ran on destroying Israel lol. Why so shocked when it came? They tell you how shitty their living conditions were all these years this and that. Yet, somehow they’ve had millions and millions of children. Somehow they’ve fed all these children. Somehow their children population exponentiallly grows. Meanwhile, the rest of us all are having a child birth crisis.

They chose to raise an army and surprise they lost.

Significantly worse than this. They raised an army and stole $11b or more dollars of potential military funding. They invested $0 in defensive technologies for their citizens like bomb shelters. They started a war against one of the best equipped and trained militaries in the world and then didn’t defend themselves at all.
