I like this article, it’s not anything ground breaking, but I think the dude wrote some actually interesting insight.
Yes it’s a gemini capsule, deal with it B)

“Why didn’t you put in the URL thingy when creating the post?”
Agh I deleted the whole comment I had written up
Basically I’m not a huge fan of the way he invokes general intelligence and IQ in “The Brain drain” section. In terms of ability sure maybe the logic holds up (and that “ability” perceived by teachers is influenced by a lot of outside factors, some of which the author mentions repeatedly, like whether or not they have to work full time outside of class), but I don’t think that invoking and reinforcing IQ as a useful or objective measure of “general intelligence” (which isn’t even real IMO) is necessary to make the point he’s making
Otherwise the article was good. Frankly we can all use a lot of the advice he gives, especially not taking work home, which is increasingly expected of people in almost all sectors.
Edit: side note! Does anyone else have opinions on whether or not lemmy should support less common URL schemes like gemini:// ? Maybe there are issues I’m not considering but I think it’s reasonable at least in the case of gemini, maybe other things like magnet links too.
edit 2: waaaait lemme try something: gemini://gemini.ctrl-c.club/~lars_the_bear/university.gmi
He’s from academia, despite the pretty good write up it still sucks to see some brainworms seep through. It did give me a similar reaction to yours, but still I don’t think it overstays it’s welcome as to ruin the whole thing.
