Nah, I don’t agree with your simplistic narrative at all. This is a proxy war between NATO and Russia where NATO is cynically using Ukraine instead of doing its own fighting. The fact that anybody. genuinely believes that the west is “helping” Ukraine is absolutely hilarious.

Ensuring that Ukraine is destroyed while hundreds of thousands of people die, and millions more have their lives ruined is an interesting way to help. This whole war could’ve been over in a negotiated settlement two months in. The west forced Ukraine to keep fighting, and it’s the reason the war continues. During that time the situation for Ukraine has continuously deteriorated, and at the end of all this there might not be any Ukraine left. With friends like these, who needs enemies.

This war would’ve never even started if Russia hadn’t done a full invasion. And everyone with a brain knows the peace demand from Russia are bullshit. You talk about millions dying but then are willing to subjugate millions under Russian occupation. But I guess when you and your lemmygrad pals believe “Russia did nothing wrong” it’s also pretty easy to believe Russia has every right to fuck over Ukraine.

This war would’ve never even started if NATO didn’t keep expanding eastwards as Stoltenberg openly admitted

He wanted us to remove our military infrastructure in all Allies that have joined NATO since 1997, meaning half of NATO, all the Central and Eastern Europe, we should remove NATO from that part of our Alliance, introducing some kind of B, or second class membership. We rejected that. So he went to war to prevent NATO, more NATO, close to his borders.

Except NATO isn’t expanding east because NATO wants to expand east. NATO expands east because the countries next to Russia want assurances against Russia. Poland and the Baltics know since MRP that you can’t trust Moscow. Finland and Sweden didn’t join NATO until Russia threatened them. In Ukraine the polling data correlates with Russia’s annexation of Crimea because the month before annexation Ukrainians had no desire to join NATO and the month after annexation majority Ukrainians wanted to join NATO. NATO expansions happen in response to the bullying by Russia. The whole “NATO shouldn’t expand east” is Russian talking point so Russia could continue bullying it’s neighbors. Your link says that exact same thing.

Being easily brainwashed by propaganda is not a sign of having a functioning brain.

You don’t need propaganda to see what shit demands Russia has. Let’s give them a third of Ukraine for a botched invasion and leave the door open for another invasion by not allowing them to join NATO. What sensible demands where Ukraine gains nothing from it.

Well, sounds like we should help Ukraine even more, since Russia’s idea of peace negotiations can be summed up as “lol just give up”.

I mean surely that’s what you’re advocating for here, right? Better support for Ukraine to survive the war of aggression, which, as we established, is Russias fault and entirely reprehensible.

If you still don’t understand that the west lost this war, then you’re going to have a hard time grappling with the events in the near future.

Again, if I assume you’re a sane adult it still sound to me like you’re asking the west to do even more.

Another way to read this would be if you’d claim the adequate response to fascist warfare is to instantly surrender and give the aggressor whatever they want - which would obviously completely ridiculous.

So enlighten me, which one is it?

Any sane adult who is even minimally informed understands that the west cannot win this war. This was obvious to everybody with a functioning brain before the war started, and it’s beyond dispute now. Yet, we still have people like you running around needing more convincing.

Another way to read this would be if you’d claim the adequate response to fascist warfare is to instantly surrender and give the aggressor whatever they want - which would obviously completely ridiculous.

Yeah, just like countries had to surrender to western aggression for many decades because the west was stronger than them. Welcome to the real world you sweet summer child.

So what do you want Ukraine to do?

It’s easy hiding behind passive-aggressive rhetoric. I’ve yet to see you actually argue in favor of anything.

You’re the only one hiding passive aggressive rhetoric here. The reality of the situation is that Ukraine has lost the war. Please explain to the class why you think more people dying is going to make the outcome better. I’m very interested to hear your rationale for that.
