Fr fr I’m incredibly jealous that they’re actually able to improve the lives of their citizens. Meanwhile the only infrastructure projects I can think of near me are all “just one more lane bro I swear just one more lane” highway widening projects that take longer to complete than it takes the People’s Republic of China to lay down thousands of kilometers of high speed rail.

During the opening day, too many vehicles showed up, curious to see what the new bridges and tunnels were like after seven long years of construction work. Their curiosity rapidly deteriorated into aggravation as they got trapped in a huge traffic jam.

Rare China L, train gang stays winning.

if you can believe it, i had family telling me chinese ghost cities were ‘using up all the resources’…

this was my uncle who is a tenuref prof (i think in english or social studies) and i was so speechles. my best friend was confused, and calmly tried to explain (my friend is not a fan of china, but was probably more surprised) that there are finite resources but not so little there cannot be decent housing for everyone and i had to glare him down because for all his good intentions he was not going to get through…

jeez it still wrangles my brain. the uncle did get NTY delivered each day which was nice, the joke and crossword parts are really fun for what it’s worth.
