      If you’re mad that the flag of Israel is depicted next to a Nazi logo, I would remind you that Israel is not the same thing as Jewish people, nor does it represent them. Israel is representative of a Zionist nation-state, and nothing more.

      Both of the ideologies depicted in this meme are centered around genocidal ethnostates, so nothing being said is untrue.

    This meme is bad.

    1. if you look closely, you’ll notice that there’s no real joke. Israel and Nazi Germany should date. That’s a shit tier joke. It’s relying on edginess too hope paper over that there’s no real humor.

    2. from a political commentary perspective, it’s awful. We have a colonial state founded by people who have experienced a collective tragedy that they then allowed to justify displacement of an indigenous population, followed by decades of alliance with Western imperialism and a slide to the hard right, with lots of delusion and gas lightning. And we have an aggrieved former great power looking to expand over neighbors while killing of undesirable immigrants. Yeah, two genocides. But they’re materially different in terms of approach, and the groups pictured hate each other. It’s like you know there’s atrocities, and you know Jews are involved, and that’s kind of the end of your insight but you really wanted to make a meme anyway.

    Find something interesting to say.

    Also, free Gaza, release the hostages, lock up Netanyahu and all the rest, etc etc

    If you seek emancipation of anyone or anything by critique, you should read up what others wrote down, that had or have the same goal.

    Otherwise your are individualistically and egoistically sabotaging the very project you want to contribute to.

    Saying the most edgy thing to feel yourself “being on the right side” will not do good to anyone except yourself.

      Friendly reminder that conflating Jewish people with Israel is highly antisemitic.

      Ethnostates should not exist. They will always result in the exclusion and harm of the excluded groups, as we are seeing now with the government of said ethnostate attempting to genocide Palestinians.

      Both Nazis and the genocidal government of Israel are willing to enact violence to uphold their ethnostates, so in that regard, comparing Zionism (not Jewish people) to other ideologies that aim to build ethnostates is perfectly apt.
