as has been pointed out, monthly commits to the software lemmy development repository are now primarily new contributors who likely have nothing to do with the original developers. lemmy hits the metrics for a healthy FLOSS software project because both lemmy (the instance software) and lemmy (the network) are much, much bigger than any one person or group of people.
lemmy (as a free, libre and open network) is progressing pretty damn well, I think.
Fun fact: “FLOSS software” means Free, Libre, and Open Software Software software. FLOSS software is sometimes abbreviated to FLOSSS software, which means Free, Libre, and Open Software Software Software software. Now, I am lying. But still, isn’t that a fun fact?
