Coders? Isn’t all that it takes is to load holoiso into a flash drive and install it on the ally?
I bet some of the things in the Ally need new drivers that aren’t in the Kernel yet.
There are firmware fixes and such that need to be implemented, so yes, coders.

Pretty much, but there are some driver issues that still need to be worked out before it is perfect. The WiFi doesn’t work on Linux at the moment and TDP control isn’t available. I installed Arch on mine along with gamescope-session-git and games run considerably slower than in Windows right now and I think it’s TDP related.
Do you think Holoiso codes itself? The article is about the people that make it.
Yup, as a software dev myself, I doubt anyone is really putting any development effort into it. Maybe a little config to map the controller properly or something, but it’s close enough hardware-wise that there really shouldn’t be much work involved.
TLDR;
Handheld PC is a PC so you can install Linux aka HoloOS and it works as we’d expect.
