    Cleary there wasn’t.

    • There are more apps for Reddit than Apollo
    • The protest didn’t stop after 48h, is still going
    • Admins forces subreddits to re-open
    • Subreddits mods where replaced
    • Subsreddits change tactics to protest
    • There’s a bunch of more apps for Android than there are for iOS
    • Didn’t mention what subreddit was u/spez moderator in 2008

      I’m so sick of this talking point. There are too many legitimate criticisms of spez to waste energy on this. If you used Reddit back then you’d know that anyone could be added as a moderator of any subreddit and they basically had no choice but to accept. For all we know, the fact that jailbait added spez as a moderator could have been the reason that Reddit added the ability to decline becoming a moderator.
