    You could have started the thread from Mastodon, by the way, namely with a post that looks like so:

    trying something out@test@lemmy.mlidk how fediverse works trying out mastodon <-> lemmy

    First line: thread title.
    Second line: mention.
    Third line: post body.

    Blank lines between them to be on the safe side.
