When trying to sign into my account the app crashes, I’ve tried clearing the cache and checking for updates.

    This is definitely hacky if it works, but on the web interface settings try setting your default sort to “hot” or anything other than “active”.

        Looks like it’s a server vs client mismatch issue. Jerboa 0.0.35 is rolling out and when your server rolls out 0.18 of lemmy this should get worked out. It’s a bummer though!

          I think it’s the opposite. It looks like OPs instance is on the 0.18 RC. I had this issue earlier. As someone else in the thread mentioned, the latest version can be downloaded from github which includes a fix. Even better, install it via F-Droid instead since the latest version is available there already.
