The only way for the negotiations to end up fairly is for Russia to pull back their forces from Ukrainian land and compensate for the rebuilding of Ukraine, but Russia would rather continue their genocide until there’s nothing left.
He could withdraw his forces form UA at any time to stop the slaughter. Seems like the easiest way to stop it to me.
