I really enjoyed the last joker, there isn’t a single chance I’ll watch this.
I thought that at first as well. However, and I hope this is the case, it’s really interesting to think about how dark a Joker musical could actually get.
Let’s just say I am very intrigued about where it could go. Taking a character like the Joker, sticking him in a musical while possibly making a slight crack in the fourth wall could create something super interesting.
Him being slightly aware that he is just a musical character would probably give his character a ton of validation about his unique interpretation of life. That is a scary thought, actually.
Unfortunately I have to agree. I loved the first one but musicals are so cringe… I just can’t stand them.
Why not, it’s free 🤷♂️
Time isn’t
A Lemmy commenter complaining about wasting time… chef’s kiss
It was only two words though so it was an efficient waste of time.
So much said, with so few words 🤙
Y say lot word?
“Why waste time say lot word, when few word do trick?” -Kevin
The headline says it’s $200 million
Why?
Why not? It sounds awesome. Although I would prefer oryginał songs.
A musical, just what the DCEU needed! /s
And I can’t wait!
I think this has real potential to be an incredible masterpiece that will influence cinema for generations. Or it’s going to be campy as hell and fun. Either way, I can’t wait!
Jukebox musicals suck.
If it was a completely original musical detailing joker’s fall into lunacy, it would be fun and be a perfect dark comedy.
Instead it’s going to get whatever popular songs strung together that barely resonate with any of the themes.
So you’ve already seen the film?
I don’t need to. A jukebox musical is DOA for me. It’s the LLM musical.
I thought the first one was fun, but kinda overhyped. Wasn’t sure I’d watch a second, but this pretty much ensures I will.
On second though, kinda weird to have such a big production be a jukebox musical, and I’d rather have original songs, but what the hell, I’ll still watch it.
