    This post title and the vice article itself are a tad disingenuous. Ultimately, this is basically the national highway safety administration saying that their Safety Act preempts any laws that conflict.

    The Mass law conflicts with it. Hence the letter saying “our law preempts all conflicting laws”. So it’s not really the administration saying anything explicitly about their position on right to repair. It’s a federal agency exerting it’s authority under law.

    Btw, the FTC came out very strongly for right to repair in 2021. So it makes this headline and article from vice even more click baity.

      Well then I hope the FTC does even something in the undemocratic hellhole that is the US because it will impact right to repair in the rest of the world.

      Whether or not it is the Biden administration doesn’t matter as much, what matters is that the US government serves the interests of capital before it’s own citizens.
