Fishing industry? Optimized? I take it you haven’t heard about bycatch then :)
Massive amounts of creatures that aren’t the target species are still caught (called bycatch) and then thrown back into the water where they typically die. In stuff like shrimp trawling, the world average is 5.7 bycatch : 1 shrimp and can go as high as 20:1!
Not to mention stuff other stuff like ghost nets
No I mean, the if clause on overfishing is getting in the way of profiting. You can save at least 2 cycles in the loop.
Then you might want to consider unrolling the loop or add multithreading.
There is a slight chance of running out of resources but, I mean, what are the chances?
That removes the humor aspect, however, which is critical to the code quality here ;)
