I am about to finish Will Wight’s Waybound, and it’s just an adrenaline fueled blast of a conclusion to a series that I was not prepared to enjoy as much as I have.

I’d love some suggestions for progression fantasy series like Cradle, so if you have any please let me know!

Thanks, added them all to my list!

Why do you think the MC in Mage Errant and Mother of Learning put people off? If it’s a slow start thing, I don’t really mind - I’ve read through most huge fantasy series and the ones I’ve loved most seem to be those that take time to develop.

From the Mother of Learning side, the main character is an extreme introvert (which is actually handled moderately well, and has a legitimate in story reason though it doesn’t come up for awhile) and more than a bit misanthropic/arrogant. A big part of the appeal is seeing them deal with their issues and legitimately becoming a better person without it being rubbed in our faces or feeling forced.

I’ll second Dungeon Crawler Carl. Didn’t really grab me right away, but they’re very different than a lot of what I read and are an excellent change of pace. Really fun as audiobooks.

I don’t have suggestion, but Cradle series is just so good! I just finished Waybound yesterday and I am sad that the series ended.

Cheers and Celebrations to us, ain’t that book a gem and a half.

(not a spoiler) I had tears laughing at the Star Wars “blooper” at the end.

Keywords you can look up is litrpg, progression fantasy and cultivation. Those are the genres of the cradle series.

Other famous series in that genre are

Mother of learning Arcane ascension Dungeon crawler carl Mage errant Iron prince The name of the wind (somewhat)

I personally haven’t dived into them yet, so I can not guarantee for the quality of any of them. But they are often recommended.

Yeah, they were a good ride! I found Arcane Ascension by Andrew Rowe to be kinda similar.

Will Wight also has a few other series, and I think some of them are set in the same universe (though there isn’t really any crossover).

His other books don’t have that same sense of progression though (though they’re pretty good in their own right).

The Noumena (soon to be) trilogy by Lindsay Ellis is pretty good so far. Bit more on the science fiction side though
