The image is a graphic titled “the real luxuries,” highlighting simple yet profound pleasures in life. It features a two-column list with illustrations and corresponding text for each item:

“a good night’s sleep” with an icon of a pillow and Z’s, representing sleep.

“slow mornings” accompanied by a coffee cup icon.

“freedom to choose” symbolized by an open hand with a heart in the center.

“time for fun and play” depicted with an artist’s palette and brushes.

“listening to birds singing” with an illustration of a bird on a branch with musical notes.

“long walks” represented by a tree.

“a good book” shown with a book icon.

“favorite home-cooked meal” with a bowl of food.

“colorful sunsets” with a sun partly below a horizon line.

“ability to freely express yourself” symbolized by a flame.

“day naps” with a cloud and moon indicating sleep.

“a good conversation” depicted by two hands in a handshake gesture.

The overall message is an appreciation for life’s simple joys, depicted in a clean, minimalist design with blue icons and text on a white background.

Yup. Not having to work all day every day so you don’t starve and have a “safe” place to sleep, would allow one to do all these things.

None of these should be luxuries. They’re impossible for most people because they don’t even have the bottommost tiers of the hierarchy of needs fulfilled

“ability to freely express yourself” symbolized by a flame.

Should I be expressing myself with casual arson?

I was expecting this to be a shitpost and spent an unreasonable amount of time scanning for the punchline.

    Something like this

OP but with one of the entries replaced with "overthrowing capitalism" with a Molotov

Hurt my back 2 days ago. This looks like my day except I can’t move or focus on anything and I’m in constant pain.

Well I would if I could. Tell that to someone who’s stuck in an office.

I don’t think that bird is singing, I think it’s screaming as the worm round its neck takes revenge.

Since joining the great resignation I’ve been constantly amazed by how nice it is to not rush though life because there’s only maybe 4 usable hours in a day for myself. Now I’m able to just pet my cat without feeling guilty or that there’s something more important that I should be doing.

Fuck the rat race. I’m never going back to that life.

People realised during the pandemic that slaving yourself away to corporations for more money is not worth it. You do not need as much money for living a good life, as Warren Buffett and other capitalists tell you.

I’ll have the night of good sleep followed by the day nap. If it goes well, just maybe I repeat it on Sunday.
