        Well, not really lol. TikTok executives are literally, unironically former DOD, CIA, and NATO psyop officers. TikTok (not Duoyin) is hosted in the US and managed by American companies. China is just making billions from terrible American privacy laws that won’t be adjusted else it’ll affect American spyware media.

        The security state wouldn’t want TikTok to be banned even if it was Chinese malware. It’s the most popular app in the world and that means free intelligence gathering and accessible propaganda/psyops in foreign countries. If the US bans, it could start a reaction chain which would be detrimental to the US’ operations. The CIA itself claims that the app has no malware, which may or not be true, but they have vested interest in the app surviving.
