It’s truffle dip.
So it is
That’s the Queen Bean.
My man.
Thank you. It’s been decades since I remembered this - and laughs are a little hard to come by right now. ❤️
This!
What’s the ingredient list say? Some stabilizers and such can do that, if they aren’t mixed properly.
I don’t do it for a living, but I have family that run dairy. One of the things used for consistency and texture is carageenen (spelling?). It kinda looks like that when it’s saturated. It’s a moss or algae extract iirc (too lazy to look it up, but it’s something like that, carageen is the original plant).
So, that would be my best guess, and if that’s in the ingredients, that’s almost certainly what it is.
Agreed, it’s unmixed carrageenans. Probably safe to eat, though it’s not mixed so I wouldn’t try it lol.
Probably some binding agents or fats that separated at some point. Like how water can seperate from sour cream.
Probably not a big deal to just stir it all back together but if you’re still worried just don’t eat it.
A refund in wanting.
Is it oily? I wonder if it’s a big clump of one of the ingredients that somehow ended up in the finished product? Like when you get a big greasy boulder of cheese powder at the bottom of the Cheeto bag sometimes?
It’s like petroleum jelly jello. Like if Vick’s was cold and kind of stuck together.
My guess is that it’s some kind of fatty binder that’s supposed to be mixed in. Like some kind of grease or wax or something that’s supposed to thicken the dip. I am by no means an expert though.
Microwave it?
I think it’s a spoon.
A blend of cream cheese, ricotta, and Parmesan with imitation truffle oil.
It’s from Aldi, so that’s why I confidently state it has no real truffle content.
It actually probably does contain truffles but probably just summer black truffles. Not all truffles were created equal and a fee varieties are extremely affordable.
And yet, even with cheap truffles, there are still sustitutes that are even cheaper. If you are buying something like this from a grocery store, it almos certainly has no truffle in it. Black, white, summer, or any fungus at all.
Gelatinous, clear and wtf?
Did you taste, not suggesting you do but…
Noooo
Its the scientific method
Forbidden truffle
It’s a ricotta based dip.
Return it and swap for another
It’s a picked testicle.
Sometimes, Señor, the truffles win.
