After listening to nearly 15 hours of public comments opposing the controversial project, the Atlanta City Council voted early Tuesday to provide additional funding for a police training center known as “Cop City.”
There’s at least two groups here:
The oligarchs. They’re not so worried about petty crime as they are about maintaining their huge wealth disparity. They use the police to maintain that.
The poor. They’re worried about petty crime because they watch TV. And it tells them that we need more police to stop crime.
Makes sense. The oligarchs are insidious, the poor are ignorant (for the most part).
