There is a 3yr old community !austin@lemmy.ml that is no longer active. I would like to become the mod, so I can redirect users to !austin@lemmy.world to reduce load on this server and let people know of the active community that is already growing and adding content.

    Hi! I’m a fellow Austinite in this instance that is trying to take over the c/atx community moderation. Both c/austin and c/atx are moderated by @Flelk. I’ve tried to contact him to check if I could take over the community with no response. If the admins want to keep moderation to grow a community within the instance, I’d be happy to help. I can also make sure to add links to the sister community in lemmy.world to help grow both communities together.
