People have different ways on browsing. In my case I do not want my default browser in app which usually contains all my password, cache and sensitive stuff, potentially open a malicious link. In boost for reddit which I used it had an option to keep the default browser clicking right away no need for a modal, but it also had an option to always select a browser you want to use.
