I’ve been trying to eat out less, but I have an excuse I swear lol. My fridge and freezer are being repaired so in the meantime I have to eat out more, it costs a bit more but Im not complaining, I love to eat out. I went to a Chinese restaurant that’s a 4 minute walk from my house. I’ve been going there for years and years and we sorta know the owner a tiny bit, our grandparents and uncles and aunts go there and never get bad service or small portions or problems with the food. The reason I mention it is because I decided to check out their enormous menu and I saw reviews. There was like one single 1star review from some old white boomer who said the portions and prices were not as good as like the cheapest shittiest Chinese restaurant in town (of course it’s better priced and more portions, its made shittier, and doesn’t use as many ingredients) and they went on to say that the “Chinese hostess was very short with us and was nearly unintelligible.” I didn’t get pissed or anything but I didn’t like that. 1.) why describe the hostess as Chinese? It’s a Chinese family owned restaurant, it’s safe to assume they are nearly all Chinese and that doesn’t really narrow things down, seems more like a way to be subtly racist. 2.) Maybe they were short with you because you were probably acting like an entitled ass from the jump. 3.) they DO speak English, do they have an accent? Yes, but you can easily understand everyone there. It’s not like they just learned English today or something, they’ve been here for years. The food was absolutely delicious. Whatever, their loss, they’re missing out on good food and good service. No other real reason for this post lol sorry if this was boring.
