      I mean they’re pretty beat up but i still think Ukraine’s army even at this point is still stronger than any other European army with the exception of Turkey (if you count them as European). Germany’s armed forces are in a catastrophic state, France’s expeditionary forces are getting kicked out of African countries left and right, and the UK has a pathetically tiny army that by their own admission wouldn’t last last a week in a serious armed conflict. Even the UK’s famous navy is a shadow of its former self.

      I would argue that at the beginning of the Russian intervention in Ukraine last year, Ukraine actually had the second strongest NATO army despite not being officially part of NATO. Their army was trained and organized to NATO standard and imo they were better equipped than Turkey while about the same size after mobilizing the territorial defense units.

      Of course that army got wrecked by the Russians in the first months, then reconstituted with a mix of old Soviet and newer NATO equipment, then wrecked again and now they’re on their third iteration with almost exclusively NATO equipment since all the old Soviet stuff the US could scrounge up has run out.
