    I appreciate the explanation. I‘ve likely been guilty of all of those at various points in my development. I was definitely a nu-atheist in my adolescence, took a while to break out of that, but reading Graeber and Marx helped with that.

    Most recently I’ve been reading Pedagogy of the Oppressed, and watching this MLM channel on TikTok that posts old videos from the cultural revolution, and it’s been amazing seeing Freire’s work come to life in the actions of the revolution. There was a video with an old professor where he discusses how he felt before and after, and his before is essentially the banking model of education, and his after is along the lines of what was described as a superior alternative to the banking model. I’m going to China next year and I’m so goddamn excited.

    You have any reading recommendations? Or if you’ve been to China, have any recommendations there for me?
