Not a fan of this!
Not even a little bit at all!
I am decently positioned to oppose such things.
Where are the conversations happening? To whom do I write? Whom must I call?

The conversations around privacy are happening pretty much everywhere! In local associations, huge corporations, software projects, governments, tiny online communities… You can try and rally behind an organization like EFF to call/write to people “in charge” to try and get these programs off, but that usually has very little chances of success.
In my view the only way to go against this is to attack systems of domination as a whole, not just this tiny individual symptom of fascism. Organize with friends, neighbors, colleagues… on all fronts. By developing networks of solidarity and popular education we can build popular power to dismantle the State apparatus. Only when we stop having 3rd parties with authority over us can we really start to be free and make decisions for ourselves.
That is of course just my opinion as a humble anarchist. You will probably find a lot of authoritarians around here who will tell you we just need a better, reformed State. I personally don’t agree as history has shown time and time again that even a “socialist republic” (such as France’s Front Populaire from the 30s, or the USSR for its entire life) was more than capable of political surveillance and repression.
I’m trying to figure out next steps specific to this issue specific to this city.
Oh sorry my bad i didn’t realize i was squatting your neighborhood forums ;) Take care!
You too :)
