    7-Zip can sometimes fail at extracting multiparty RAR archives and some ZIP files. Its better to have both to be able to extract anything that you download. I can say this confidently as someone who is both an internet archivist and someone fairly advanced at data compression, archival and benchmarking that I have done for over a decade.
