“At the end of the day, we really had no say in this commission process whatsoever. It’s been all smoke and mirrors,” Follmer said. “But we get it. More than 30,000 people voted for this, but I don’t even know exactly what they want officers held accountable for because if you go to the inner city, you talk to any law-abiding citizens, they want the police, they want these little dope boys and all these guys that are carrying guns off the streets. But it’s the one or two cases that make the media every 10 years that have them saying we have hold officers accountable now.”

Holy shit this guy is a fucking asshole

Follmer is one of the garbage people who tried to get Timothy Loehmann (Tamir Rice’s murderer) his job back on the Cleveland pd. One of those people who just make the world a worse place everyday.

When people say things like this I bring up the fact it’s illegal to stop an officer from arresting you if they are are detaining you illegally. You are not legally allowed to fight back, and other civilians who see a cop assault or kill someone while on duty are not legally allowed to step in and stop it. The only recourse allowed to civilians is taking the cop to court after th fact.

This means that whenever you are detained by a police officer they are in a place of privilege. They have better rights than you do and for that reason actual good people would step back and make an extra effort to not abuse their power. With that extra privilege should come extra punishment for the abuse. But instead they get little to no punishment in most cases.
