We need ti begin thinking of ways for technology to help us avoid this - before it happens. I disagree with crypto-currency being a long-time answer, because soon enough, it will be made illegal because cetnral banks won’t allow competition against their CBDCs.

Sure, but now we are heading right into Dystopian levels of control. I was looking that Italy is already running a pilot reminiscent to the CCP’s social credit in two cities. Canada is working with the WEF to setup a Digital ID along with the Netherlands, and have put aside about $105 million for the project. Soon enough, with Central Bank Digital Currencies already being called for, you will see a Citizen Wallet type of profile on everyone. You can see how it all comes together in perhaps a year or two.

Not to mention the Liberal Party in Canada sneaked a law via Covid Emergency Powers so they can now freeze your bank accounts if they deem you an issue, at will. No court order needed anymore, like before. Canadian have less legal protections in that regard than a lot of 3rd world countries, now.

I know that Warren in the USA was pushing for CBDCs earlier this year, and they would allow for a type of monetary and financial micromanagement right out of a dystopian movie.
