    I have wondered if cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Popeye help normalize violence in the perception of children.

      I think no given that I watched a lot of Tom and Jerry and never curled a shotgun into a mouse whole blowing the back of my head open or ran so fast into a wall I turned into an accordion.

      But seriously nah, if multiple studies showing that videos games don’t promote violence in kids, then I don’t see how less interactive forms of entertainment will do that anymore.

        Promote is not normalize though. Americans and the West (can’t say about the East) in general are pretty desensitized to violence. John Wick kills 150 people at gunpoint with a pistol and it’s cool. One boob slip and everyone’s screaming.

          Yeah that’s fair, I’d like to think humans by our nature don’t default to violence despite seeing it but then again I’ve seen drunk people on a night out 🤷
