Sometimes I wonder if the people who think this is anything have ever considered how it would feel for them to actually walk up to one of the slaves of Qatar and say, “sorry you’re suffering and dying, I’m wearing this red shirt in your honour. Hope I’ve done enough to help you.”
Like, with every one of these pointless little corporate “gestures” there are always a host of people who go along, and feel…inspired? that this “powerful” message is being sent. We see it every time. But do they ever actually think about how it would feel to be the person this message is ostensibly about and to be told this is the extent of others’ care?
