Hey comrades! I’m seanchai (pronounced shawn-a-key, it’s a traditional Irish storyteller).

I’m a thirty year old trans lesbian currently living on Turtle Island. Hope for us to have some great discussions here, but for now here’s a song by one of my favourite artists, Devi McCallion, performing here as Girls Rituals.

We’re all living in a transworld, you can’t do fucking shit about it <3

Not really a ‘lately’ thing, but I absolutely adore the stuff Devi has done with Ada as Black Dresses, I don’t know how to link inline here but in particular ‘Cartoon Network’ hit close to home.

Much lesser known, so I kinda want to mention her whenever I can, is an artist called May Leitz, she’s also a youtuber doing like… horror movie analysis and stuff. I’ve yet to get any of my friends into her music but I live in hope. “High to Forget You” is my favourite song by her.

I love Black Dresses! Rook is probably my favourite musician, her latest album UGLY DEATH NO REDEMPTION ANGEL CURSE I LOVE YOU blew me away, and I have listened to it a messed up amount of times since it came out this summer.

Gonna check May Leitz out, thank you so much for the recommendation!!

(now I feel nervous and hope you like her stuff lol) and yeah, Rook is amazing solo too, that new album was great, not sure if I like it more than 2,020 Knives yet ponder. Oh, Rook also has a couple albums with Nomie (under rook&nomie) which have some good shit too, I recommend ‘soft atrocity’ and ‘DAYDREAM’

2, 020 Knives is fantastic for sure, that ending track An Ocean just hits so hard. I always get everything that Rook, Devi, and Katie Dey drop haha, they were my intro into electronic music. I was always an emo/screamo and pop-punk girl growing up (we shouldn’t talk about the years just before I came out where I mostly just listened to The Mountain Goats)

Haha, yeah I’m a bit older, came up with late 80s/early 90s metal, my intro to electronic music was mostly the Prodigy and the soundtrack stuff from wipEout 2097. But we’re getting away from trans artists at this point. :D

I’m not necessarily a hyperpop listener, but I can hear midwest emo influences in this, as well as big 80s goth vibes, I’ll definitely listen to a few of her albums, thanks!

Yeah that sounds about right heh, she’s also decent fun to watch, I’m not even really into horror but I find myself enjoying her analyses
